Print Designer
We’re looking for a Print Designer to join the Design team at RIXO, reporting to our Print Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate, creative designer to be a part of a key aspect of our business, Print & Textile Design.
You will be involved from initial concept, hand painting, re-colouring to sending out artwork tech packs to ensure we are delivering timeless, unique artworks each season. Along with excellent design skills and a keen eye for vintage fashion & textiles, we are looking for an organised individual eager to improve and maintain processes and ensure deadlines are being met. You are willing to challenge if there’s a better way of doing something, a self-starter and eager to grow with the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting Print Manager in the seasonal creation of print, colour & embroidery design.
- Assisting in the creation of original hand painted artwork and development of vintage sourced artwork.
- Confident at creating multiple artwork layouts & repeats supported with the technical knowledge and understanding of how to achieve best possible outcomes for Print, embroidery, and jacquard designs.
- Creating colourways, re-colouring, and colour separation. Must have a great colour sensibility.
- You will be a confident decision maker on making the approvals on artwork swatch submits, ensuring colour and pattern is kept to highest standard. Delegating administrative work with Assistant so comments are logged in PLM system and print room is well organised.
- Communicating and working with our PD team to ensure designs are achievable in production & critical path at design stage. Understanding our suppliers handwriting and suitability for textile development each season.
- Working with Assistant to ensure OneDrive is up to date after a tech pack launch.
- Assisting Print Manager in preparing for design meetings. Creating artwork boards, researching themes, re-colouring and creating artwork in line with collection briefs.
- Preparing for final print and colour sign off meetings with Manager & confidently actioning artwork Teck packs, meeting all collection deadlines, working closely with assistant.
About You
- Passionate about all things print and textile design with a vintage interest.
- Fashion/Textiles Degree who has specialised in print.
- Understanding of fabric/ print/embroidery techniques.
- Excellent hand drawing and painting skills.
- Excellent eye for vintage, colour, and artwork compositions.
- Extremely high taste level.
- Exceptionally organised individual able to prioritise your workload and multitask.
- Someone who displays strong attention to detail, eager to develop working processes.
- Great team player with excellent time management.
- Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
- Ability to visualise and present beautiful print and embroidery concepts through CADs.
- We are looking for a self-starter, solution driven.
